Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off & Regatta

GMSP’s Flagship Event! A beloved fall tradition that takes place each October along Main Street. The two-day event begins with Saturday's Giant Pumpkin Weigh-off, followed by a festival weekend featuring vendors, contests, and lots of family activities. After the weigh-off, the massive pumpkins - often weighing 1,000 pounds or more - are hollowed out and turned into boats for Sunday's Pumpkin Regatta on the Piscataquog River, where costumed paddlers race in the decorated gourds. The event started in 2000 and now draws thousands of visitors each year, celebrating community spirit and New England autumn fun.
